Press Release

Press Release 30th April 2024

As works continue apace on our Lamlash development, the Arran Development Trust are pleased to confirm a number of landowners island wide have come forward to present sites within their ownership for future consideration by the ADT, which may be suitable for the development of affordable housing. This includes sites in Blackwaterfoot, Brodick, Lamlash, Lochranza and Whiting Bay amongst others.

The ADT will continue to conduct due diligence work on all sites presented in order for the ADT Board to take a qualified evidential based recommendation.  This due diligence work will include but is not restricted to liaison with the North Ayrshire Council Planning Department, grant funding/private finance availability, services and utilities availability.  Once the results have been analyzed, the ADT will present the findings to the community and all interested parties in order to inform the final decision-making process.

It is anticipated all due diligence work pertaining to the Blackwaterfoot and Shiskine sites in particular will be complete Summer 2024.  From ADT research, based upon independent housing need analysis, these areas have been identified amongst some of the “most preferred” places to live by the community.

If you know of, or indeed own land which may be suitable for affordable housing, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the ADT via the Discoverarran website contact us page (www.discoverarran.co.uk) or directly to This email address is being protected from spambots.
